Survival of the Thickest is headed to Netflix this summer time. The streaming service has introduced the premiere date for the brand new comedy sequence with the discharge of a trailer.
Starring sequence creator Michelle Buteau, Tone Bell, Christine Horn, and Tasha Smith, the single-camera comedy follows Mavis Beaumont (Buteau), a proud plus-sized girl and aspiring stylist. The story follows Mavis as she rebuilds her life following a current breakup. The sequence is predicated on Buteau’s memoir.
Company within the first season will embody Annisa Felix, Allan Ok. Washington, Ambre Anderson, Anna George, Anthony Michael Lopez, Becca Blackwell, Christine Jones, Garcelle Beauvais, Hugh Moore, J. Riley Jr., Mark McKinnon, and Marouane Zotti.
Netflix revealed extra in regards to the eight-episode season in a press launch.

Survival of the Thickest facilities on Mavis Beaumont (Michelle Buteau). Black, plus-size and newly single (not by her selection!), Mavis unexpectedly finds herself having to rebuild her life as a struggling stylist. She’s decided to not solely survive however thrive with the help of her chosen household, a physique constructive perspective, and a cute v-neck with some lip gloss. The scripted comedy is predicated on Buteau’s acclaimed e-book of essays.
