The collection finale of Gotham Knights aired earlier this week, and one solid member has now spoken out concerning the ending of the series. Misha Collins performed Gotham Metropolis district legal professional Harvey Dent within the superhero crime drama, and he says the showrunners knew the chances have been towards it getting a second season.
Starring Oscar Morgan, Olivia Rose Keegan, Navia Robinson, Fallon Smythe, Tyler DiChiara, Anna Lore, and Rahart Adams, Gotham Knights follows the subsequent technology of superheroes after the dying of Batman.
Collins stated the next concerning the possibilities The CW collection had for a second season, per Deadline:
“With the state of affairs as they have been with the CW and DC and the Warner Brothers universe, the entire varied variables that have been coming into play right here, our showrunners knew that from the outset of this season. Actually, once we have been taking pictures the pilot, they knew that the deck was stacking towards it for a Season 2. In order that factored into the choice, I feel, to not make this a pure cliffhanger, as a result of it could be actually unsatisfying for everybody concerned if not less than the season’s important arcs weren’t resolved.”
As for his character and what a second season may need appeared like, he stated:
“Properly, because the collection winds up, we’re actually simply getting launched to the Two Face character, and it could have been wealthy and rewarding to have explored him devolving down the highway and the inevitable fights to deliver Harvey again, which might, after all, have concerned an amazing quantity of interior turmoil. We had plenty of conversations about what a potential Season 2 would possibly appear to be. I’ve to say, because it performs, this season ties up so most of the story arcs on the present with a bow so neatly that it nearly works as a one-season miniseries.
I’m glad that we’re not leaving the viewers hanging…it looks like a really properly encapsulated chapter and an okay stopping level. But, I felt like this the present was actually getting cooking, and I’d have liked to have had extra time with it. I liked working with this solid. I liked working with these producers and writers. It was a really enjoyable, fertile, artistic playground. And I’m gonna miss all of that.”
What do you think? Do you assume Gotham Knights ended with a satisfying conclusion? Did you need to see a second season?
