YNW Melly can be tried once more for first-degree homicide in connection to the 2018 shootings of Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams, the Broward County State Lawyer’s Workplace confirmed to Pitchfork. Pitchfork has contacted representatives for YNW Melly for remark.
After greater than a month of generally animated court docket proceedings, the jury couldn’t come to a unanimous choice within the case; Broward Circuit Court docket Choose John J. Murphy III declared a mistrial on July 22, following three days of deliberation. He thanked the jury for his or her efforts, saying, “Most of these selections, they’re onerous selections.”
YNW Melly’s case went to trial almost four-and-a-half years after his arrest. If convicted, he may face the dying penalty. One other YNW affiliate, Cortlen “YNW Bortlen” Henry, remains to be awaiting trial in reference to the incident.
