Pushin’ Thirty is an upcoming comedy as a part of A Play, A Pie and A Pint (PPP)’s Spring 2024 season, performing 11-16 March at Glasgow’s Oran Mor earlier than touring to the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh (19-23 March) and The Gaiety, Ayr (28-30 March).
Written by Taylor Dyson and Calum Kelly, below their theatre firm Elfie Picket, this new comedy sees two former highschool associates and bandmates in Dundee reunited after an opportunity encounter, who’ve one final shot at “making it” earlier than they flip thirty.
Pushin’ Thirty is directed by Beth Morton (Babs, The Internal Serpent) and can star co-writer Taylor Dyson and upcoming actor Sam James Smith who will each be performing unique songs all through.
Dyson and Kelly are targeted on bringing native tales to the stage and have obtained earlier crucial approval for Ane City, a coming-of-age story a few working-class lady from Dundee, that began on the Edinburgh Fringe earlier than being revived to the principle stage on the Dundee Rep Theatre. Pushin’ Thirty marks their debut at PPP in a season centred on new writers to the lunchtime theatre phenomenon.

It is a lively comedic two-hander with songs that we’ve written together which tells the story of two estranged best pals who rekindle their friendship. While it’s a fun story, we feel it’s an incredibly important piece with themes of friendship and kindness.”
