“Staying”
Lizzy McAlpine launched her first album in 2020, and her second album in 2022. And between the 2, she’s had lots of success. One of her songs, “Ceilings,” was a viral TikTok hit, and has been streamed over half a billion times. So you may suppose, with all that success, you’d wish to preserve working in method that’s been working. But whereas Lizzy was making her third album, Older, after nearly a yr into the method of recording, she threw the entire thing out. She introduced in a brand new band, and began over with a very completely different method. I talked to her concerning the music “Staying” from her new album. You’ll hear her authentic voice memos, in addition to the primary model she made within the studio, after which the way it actually got here to life as soon as she reimagined it.
