ABKCO has revealed the main points for the soundtrack to Wes Anderson’s new film, Asteroid City. The album is out this Friday, June 23, and has music from composer Alexandre Desplat’s rating, authentic songs by Jarvis Cocker, and a smattering of nation, people, pop, and classical songs. One of many new Cocker songs is “Dear Alien (Who Art in Heaven),” which the Pulp frontman made with Richard Hawley and Wes Anderson. Cocker sang the monitor with Jean Yves Lozac’h, Perè Mallén, Preston George Mota, Rupert Buddy, and Seu Jorge. Take heed to the brand new music under.
The Asteroid Metropolis soundtrack closes with a second Cocker authentic, “You Can’t Wake Up If You Don’t Fall Asleep.” Anderson put the soundtrack album along with music supervisor Randall Poster.
Jarvis Cocker and Seu Jorge play cowboys in Asteroid Metropolis. Jorge famously co-starred in and contributed music to Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. Cocker, in the meantime, lent his voice to Implausible Mr. Fox and its soundtrack, and he additionally contributed to The French Dispatch.
Asteroid Metropolis premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in Might, and it will get a wider U.S. launch on June 23. Together with Cocker and Jorge, the film stars Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Stephen Park, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Jeff Goldblum, and extra.
