Introduced as a part of the 2023 Locarno International Film Festival lineup yesterday, the trailer arrives for Romanian filmmaker Radu Jude’s movie Do Not Count on Too A lot from the Finish of the World. Following 2021’s pandemic satire Dangerous Luck Banging or Loony Porn, Jude’s newest characteristic takes its title from a quote by Polish poet Stanislaw Jerzy Lec and clocks in at 163 minutes.
An official synopsis reads:
Half One: We observe Angela, an overworked manufacturing assistant who should drive across the metropolis of Bucharest so as to movie the casting for a “security at work” video commissioned by a multinational firm, ostensibly to lift consciousness amongst its personal staff on the varied risks that result in work associated accidents. Quickly she encounters Marian, a half paralysed employee, who will get the half.
Half Two: When Marian reveals on digicam that his work associated accident is because of the firm’s negligence, his assertion ignites a scandal, which forces him to re-invent his story to go well with the corporate’s narrative.
Try the trailer above forward of the movie’s premiere on the Swiss competition later this summer time.
