It’s exhausting to not heat to Canadian TV and arise celebrity Caroline Rhea. Back in Scotland after a number of sold-out and critically acclaimed runs at The Fringe, she is on the best type of her profession.
The pleasure and heat simply radiate from Rhea the second she steps onstage and the (combined age, race, gender) packed crowd are on-side from the beginning. Showered with presents (a crocheted Salem Saberhagen full with teeny-tiny witches’ hat to a spectacular hand-crafted, rainbow sequin jacket together with her likeness appliqued on the again) she weaves her tales of fame and movie star round her intelligent interactions with the viewers. Her capacity to cycle again to tiny items of knowledge gleaned from the viewers is mightily spectacular.
Rhea is a pure storyteller, and as madcap as she is, her grounded Canadian-ness on the insanity that surrounds her day by day life is completely relatable. Tales of Taylor Swift sit alongside, courting in center age, menopause and an encyclopaedic information of astrology.
If you get the prospect to see her dwell then bounce at it. A real stand-up grasp at their finest.
